How does a healthy Spiritual life help a person?

INTRODUCTION

The mere fact that man is dual personality, which means that he is both physical man, and spirit man in one body: when we talk about wellness, it should not be interpreted to mean physical health only, but also our spiritual well being. The Elder in third John 3 of the New Testament knew this so well when he addressed Gaius a Believer, and said to Him,  “… unto the well beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

If I might define Spiritual wellness, it is possessing a set of principles, values, beliefs and morals, of course, which adds meaning and purpose in your life. Additionally, being connected to your creator through Christ, His Holy Spirit will guide your actions throughout your sojourn here on earth.

How a Spiritual Life Founded on The Word Can Help  You

  • Through prayer,  meditating on the pure Word of God, fasting and relaxation, we discover new insights and approaches about life.

  • A spiritual life helps you to experience an inner peace of mind and calmness in your spirit.

  • A spiritual life helps you to live a more meaningful life, for example, being connected and in tune with your Creator through prayer, you by His grace will find that your fleshly lust,  passions, pride and vanity may go away miraculously, as that your life will become in alignment with the Word of God, and spiritual values, such as, trust, honesty,  kindness, forgiving and generous.

  • Spiritual wellness helps you to connect with others in a wider community, who share common core values and valued beliefs like you, as a result, you may enjoy the love, fellowship and support of that social community. For example a vibrant prayer or Bible Study group, or perhaps an event in the park, or beach.

  • Finally,  spiritual wellness is a crucial part of living a well balanced, healthy and energetic life. It’s secret rest mainly how you connect and interact with others, and moreover how you view yourself.

What Is Grief?

Grief is the experience of dealing with loss. It can be associated with any event that interrupts one’s normal condition. For example, you may grieve the loss of: a friend, or a loved one, or a marriage partner, or even a pet animal. Further, you may also grieve the loss of a golden opportunity, or good health, just to mention a few'

It is noteworthy that there are many phases of grief, - the following 5 steps are not hard and fast, or binding rules

  • Denial: You may find it difficult to accept the reality of your loss

  • Anger: You may demonstrate your anger at almost everything, and everyone, even with Almighty God

  • Bargaining: You may reflect and regret your past actions that could have led

  • Depression: You may experience the mixed and complex emotions associated with depression, emotional isolation inclusive

  • Acceptance: The bottom line is that most come to grips with the reality of loss.

The Following Are Some Types of Griefs

Anticipatory

Anticipatory grief, this is grieving prior to the actual loss. Processing grief prior to the time prepares you to face the loss when it actually occurs. However, it should be treated as a secondary matter lest it distracts you from enjoying the precious time available to you.

Abbreviated or Shortened grief

Sometimes, due to the work you put in during the period of your anticipatory grief, you are able to journey through the grieving process quickly. Nevertheless grieving for a short time doesn’t necessarily mean that you never truly cared about what or who you lost. Interestingly, when it comes to grief, each of us are on different timelines.

Delayed Grief

In some instances, instead of the body experiencing the immediate effects of emotions associated with a loss, these emotions may be experienced at a later period of time, due to the body's inability to work its way through them. This may be due to the fact that the mind and body are taken up with personal responsibilities pertaining to the loss, such as legal procedures, etc.

Inhibited grief

The term “inhibited” means unable to act in a relaxed way because of self-consciousness, or mental restraint. Inhibited grief involves suppressing emotions. Most people lack the knowledge of how to process, or to visualize the confusing emotions that can pop up when we are grieving. As a consequence, those who suppress their emotions are unaware of it. It is better to relax and feel the effects of your emotions, if not they may translate into physical symptoms such as, anxiety and upset stomach.

Cumulative grief

Cumulative grief suggests that you are processing many losses at the same time. For instance, "Covid 19 Pandemic," or during a natural disaster, or a war, when families lost several loved ones or close friends. In these cases, grieving many losses all together makes the process difficult in ways one may not cater for.

Collective Grief

Grief can be personal or collective. In our society today there are many far-reaching losses, due to major events such as natural disasters, due to climate change, the current war in the Middle East, and in Europe, and the crazy school shootings, as well in private and in public places. Happily, in a collective grief group, participants grieve the shared experiences they have lost, and they live in hope of a better tomorrow.

While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter , and day and night shall never cease. [Genesis 8:22]

The sun is a natural source of vitamin D for our physical body. Interestingly, the amount of sun an individual needs per day depends on their pigmentation of skin. A caution here is that excessive sun can cause skin cancer. According to the Vitamin D council, a person who is light skin may take 15 minutes of sun, in comparison to a person with dark skin, which may take hours.

Vitamin D is made once the Ultraviolet B rays of the sun come into contact with the person’s skin. At that point processes inside the tissue of skin begin to make Vitamin D for the utilization of the body. For example, vitamin D helps the body in its absorption of Calcium, which plays a significant role in building bones. Also, the body needs Vitamin D for the proper functioning of the nervous and immune systems.
